Guys, Well Done! despite the fact that we didnt play for the past 6 months, plus all the festive eating.
We are unlucky not to go in front, too many chances and didnt convert it. Our next match will come soon, meantime keep yourself fit.
Hi SR mates,
The team performed well overall, specially in the first 20 min and the 2nd half. We passed the ball fairly well and were able to create opportunities up front. We have about 6 chances, however no luck. The team collapsed after the 1st goal, and mainly becoz we are not used to fight back from goal down.
Secondly, the overall team fitness was in doubt after the first 20min, the remaining 25min in the 1st half was a struggled. Trying to chase ball. However, We came out refreshed in the 2nd half.
Edwin was as usual, is my MOM, a towering, battling & commanding defender, winning most of the headers and tackles. Always give 110%.
Another two players came to my attention with their inspiring performance, Desmond (DC) and Joshua (MC).
"In Cik" Desmond, usually a full back, cut off the supplies on the left wing with his almost perfect reading of the game. Good anticipation & covering on the defensive zone, lead by example as a "in cik". Played 90min.
Joshua, I would say this is the 3rd time i saw him played, was all around the pitch. A midfield general for this match. Holding onto the ball in midfield and spreading the passes to attack. Came back to defend as well. Delayed time for team mates to get back to position whenever SR committed a foul. Played 90min.
I also noticed that SR always tested the opponent GK with placed shots. We had abt 6 chances, 4 came from placed shots and 1 hit the Gk. The 4 placed shots were all near-missed. This is a good sign as such play need midfielders and forwards to pass the ball well in order to get into the 6 yard box.
To summarized,
Thumb up
Team play was good, fair amount of passes
Create lot of opportunities
Thumb down
Lack of match fitness
Lack composure up front
Lack a real striker who can shoot from far
Lack determination to fight back
